Welcome to my August 2014 Activity Report!
Each month I post a report about my fitness activities.
Why Do This?
1. To keep a record of my own progress, 2. To keep the weight off for good! and 3. To be straight up about what I’m doing.
I reckon if you’re investing time to read through this site and are executing any of the strategies I write about, then you deserve to know that I’m putting my money where my mouth is, so to speak.
If you’re just starting out with your own weight loss and exercise activities, please understand that these numbers did NOT happen overnight. Truth is, I’ve been tracking my activity for 11 months now and the numbers listed below are very, very different to where I started.
Notes about August
August was HUGE! In terms of exercise anyway. The numbers that follow are the biggest I’ve put up in the 11 months I’ve been tracking my activity. I’m kinda surprised by the numbers, I didn’t make a decision to do any more, and I’ve continued to work from home for a few days throughout the month. However, I decided to make sure I go for a walk every day that I work from home. If you’re new here, this is significant because I get the bulk of my exercise from walking to-and-from work every day.
August has seen me get back in to the strength training too (I got pretty slack in June & July). Mostly I’ve been doing 3 or 4 sets of this simple exercise plan every other day. I was hoping to put on some weight in muscle, but I held steady at 70kg. I have toned up some though. Dropping a cm off my waist. Yesssss! Toning up, building muscle and getting rid of the lingering fat around my hips and lower back is my main focus now.

Then im like na thats it getting back on track tomorrow and it never happens >:( Do you have any tips on motivation and maintaining things and also when things get tough not to turn to junk food sorry this is all over the place…..
Thanks ,

Hi Shania, thanks for stopping by!
In my experience motivation is temporary. You’ve got it and then before you know it, it’s gone. I reckon the key to maintaining a healthy weight is forming sustainable habits that make up a healthy but enjoyable lifestyle. This way you get to live your life in a way that’s full of healthy choices, but leaves room for the not-so healthy choices too. Have a read of this post: http://www.127kgs.co.nz/here-today-gone-tomorrow-an-unmotivated-weight-loss-mission/ and this post http://www.127kgs.co.nz/a-short-walk-to-healthy-lessons-from-a-former-fat-guy/ for more info. If you’ve still got questions, hit me back and I’ll do my best to help.
